Professional Mission statement
I chose to study occupational therapy because of the varied settings and diverse populations the profession serves. I am excited to explore the variety of options available to me. No matter the setting or the population, I look forward to helping clients achieve new skills or to relearn skills through the use of important and meaningful therapeutic activities.
I believe that I am prepared to be an excellent occupational therapist. My strong work ethic, clinical reasoning and skills, flexibility, respect, and creativity will allow me to aid clients in their pursuit of independence. I also believe that I have a caring, empathetic, and friendly personality that will enable me to work positively with clients. Finally, I believe that I have the interpersonal skills and experience to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
